Katlin Tilly
Coordinator
Katlin has dedicated her personal and professional life to environmental conservation. She joined the CCC team in January 2022 as Coordinator.
Prior to that, she was exposed to some incredible opportunities that deepened her knowledge and skills in how to advocate for a more sustainable world. This ranges from sailing around the world researching plastic pollution to implementing food security projects on small islands to meeting with government officials regarding environmental policy. Her degree in Economics and Geography exposed me to the complex relationships between environmental conservation, economic stability, and the role of policy in supporting both.
She has spent many years living and working in small communities and enjoys engaging with different stakeholders and community members to drive change. Katlin is incredibly excited about the opportunity to continue my journey of environmental advocacy in the Capricorn region.

Dr. Coral Rowston
Climate Campaigner
Coral was the Capricorn Conservation Council Coordinator from late 2020 to early 2022. During her time as Coordinator, her focus was mostly on community education, advocacy, and campaigning in relation to climate, coal, and coast matters. When an opportunity for a second position within CCC came up, Coral decided to continue her focus on climate change, advocacy against new and expanding coal and gas plants and protecting the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.
Coral has worked in a variety of environment and conservation jobs ranging including natural area management, coastal planning, development assessment, carbon sequestration projects, and assessment of conservation values of land. Her work has covered many amazing places across Australia and over 10 years here in the Capricorn Region.
Coral is passionate about the natural environment and protecting its priceless values. She has dedicated her education and employment life to making a positive difference in the protection and management of our environment. She firmly believes that climate change is the most important environmental issue facing our ecosystems and our way of life.

I love nature - the Australian bush in particular - and a simple life (waste and weed free!). I joined CCC to learn the truth about our land and our planet, and work with this extraordinarily, knowledgeable and resourceful group, to restore and treasure it.

CCC has been very precious to me since I retired in 2007. I should point out that we need more women on the committee. To say the least my life has been full of diversity. I worked in Aboriginal Education for many years and the issues of our Indigenous people are still a foremost concern for me. In the nineties, I went to Papua New Guinea to work with women's groups and joined the Red Cross. Then I spent several years with the International Red Cross in Abkhazia, Georgia, and in Afghanistan.

Doug Crossman

Steve Elson has more than 20 years experience in environmental planning, management, and regulation, mostly in Qld government. Steve is retired but provides advisory services for ecosystem restoration including propagation, planting, and maintenance of local native plant species. He is a life member of CCC and has a commitment to sustainable living and biodiversity conservation
